Trippaers Transport ready to take on a challenging 2023

For the past 36 years, we have been working day and night to meet the logistical challenges of our customers. However, the trust our customers place in us is being tested by the challenging economic background. The unprecedented rise in fuel and equipment prices, along with the wage indexations are forcing us to raise our prices in turn. However, we are not leaving customers, partners and employees out in the cold. If anything, we are taking a proactive, supportive approach. We are continuing to invest in people and resources, so that 2023 does not turn into a disastrous year but a year full of opportunities.

“Our organisational structure is also of benefit in these times of crisis, as we are small enough to provide personal support and big enough to adapt in response to opportunities.” Jorg Trippaers

Investing in the future

Over the past year, Trippaers Transport has made substantial investments, which has resulted in a new branding for customers, employees and suppliers - and the further expansion of our vehicle fleet. For starters, this newsletter is part of this new branding. Our aim is to involve everybody - meaning employees, customers and suppliers alike - in what goes on at our company. Something we believe is more important than ever now. In addition, over the weeks ahead, we are looking forward to taking delivery of extra trucks and on 8 December, we will be celebrating Truck Driver Day.

Rising costs

Without doubt, the white elephant in the room is all about the rising costs in the haulage industry. Something none of us can afford to ignore any longer, no matter how harsh confronting reality is. The general expectation is that we will be seeing a price increase of around 15%. The main reason for this is the higher wage cost as a result of the wage indexation set to be implemented in January. Rather than panic, we deliberately opt for sustainable investments in equipment and people. We are keen to minimise the impact for our partners without making concessions to the quality of our service delivery, which leaves us with no choice but to update our rates.

Murat purposively embraces our values

On 8 December, i.e. Truck Driver Day, we will be making an extra effort to show our drivers how grateful we are, as - without these hardworking men and women - none of these foodstuffs, building materials, parcels, clothing items and orders would get delivered. Meet Murat, who has been with us for four years and who takes pride in working as a driver.

Murat: “The thing that persuaded me to take up a job with Trippaers Transport? What appealed to me are the proper arrangements, short lines of communication, the flexible approach and the opportunities for personal growth and development. I'm a very active kind of person, I can't just sit at home doing nothing, so I like variety. I mainly do runs for the Tessenderlo Chemie project, where I go back and forth between the plant and the storage facility, driving my own dedicated tractor. But I also step in to lend a helping hand for MOTs and short journeys, driving tarpaulin-covered trailers or containers as and when needed. The future? I'm hoping the economic crisis won't hit too hard and I get to keep my job. That being said, the main thing is obviously continued good health for all, my wife, my family and friends and everybody at Trippaers Transport.”

Trippaers Transport is always on the lookout for motivated truck drivers. Do you know of anyone who may want to join our team?
